The Voice Actors are as follows:
Kevin Abondondallarama:
Chrome:
Good job, you guys. ^^ Lines will be sent to you guys later tonight.
It disturbs me that there was only one audition for each part. I do not know if this was due to a lack of interest in the voice drama overall, or if people just forgot, or if it's because people are waiting for other desired roles. In any case, if there are an insufficient number of auditions for the next scene (Includes Axl, Yume, Rosu, Hollow, and Lament), then there will not be auditions for the third scene. Instead, I will have to resort to personally asking friends and other voice actors to voice the characters. Please don't let me resort to this; I'd like to give you all a chance to try out for voice acting.

~The-Palochka will not be taking part in the finale comic. We initially planned on having him edit the script for the battle portion of the finale, but due to his busy schedule, ~The-Palochka will no longer be able to contribute to Nostalgia.
In other news, voice auditions for minor roles may just start early. Be on the lookout for those auditions soon. ^^
The minor roles are Veleno, Paprika, Harlequinn, Kevin, Rose and Rosemary, and Chrome. Kevin and Chrome will briefly serve as narrators.

If anyone is intending on creating a final spectator entry for the tournament, then please note me, ~xxxLalo (not this account) the complete summary of your SE. This is so that we don't tread on anyone's final stories in the final battle comic and also to determine which voice roles will be available.
If you look at our current progress, you will all see that I'm redoing some of the concepts since I heard some people were doing final SEs. Also, there will be a list that will be updated every once in a while of the voice roles that are 100% guaranteed to be on the voice drama. Whether we add roles or not depend on what you all intend on doing for your own final comics. ^^

.:8/22/09:.
The prize notes have officially been sent out. The prize donors should now contact the winners about the prizes sometime soon.
Also, the progress on the final boss battle comic is posted on the top of the journal. It WILL take a long time because of high school (and college for some of the judges) so please be patient!
You've probably noticed that the first part of the final boss battle is a voice drama. That means there will be auditions later on when the script is done, and at least 3/4ths of the images are done. The owners of the characters involved in the voice drama will be contacted before opening auditions so that we can get information on voice references.

We're sorry that this is taking much longer than the previous rounds. It's been over a week now and despite the fact that we don't exactly have all of the critiques in yet, I would like to announce the winner of this tournament. If and when we get the last judge's critiques, I'll update this journal with the critique.
Kat, I enjoyed both of your fighting sequences. From the beginning to the end of the battle between Kevin and Axl and Kai, I thought that it was a great plus that you showed some of that character development in the two that has accumulated from the start of the tournament. Also, the characterization of everyone was spot on and you also showed a lot of your opponent's views which added more depth to your entry. The way that you left Kai's condition as a cliffhanger was another thing that impressed me and is keeping me waiting to see if you will be doing an SE to reveal what happened to him. I think what I liked best about your entry though, is the scene in which S'ran's ghost appears before him. You revealed all of Kai's backstory as a prologue to your entry and how you decided to show some of S'ran's side of the story was excellent. Additionally, I liked how you ended your comic with the last scene from Fur Elise I. By doing that, it just leaves a pretty big impact on the reader...or at least, for me anyway seeing how I am a tragic romance fan. Hahaha.
I'll be getting to the bad and the ugly now, so bear with me. I felt that it got completely confusing when Kai got stabbed and then later on, Kevin tells Sideshow to control his anger and then the Ringmistress points out that Sideshow attacked Kai. I was confused because I thought that Kevin almost killed Kai. If I was confused from that, then I'm sure that the other readers would be confused as well. What bothered me most though, was that the memory scenes were just dialogues off to the sidelines. I understand about what you had in mind; I know that if Axl and Sideshow were to realize that they were memories, then you would not have been able to have your church battle. Still, I felt that there could have been more you could have done with Axl and Sideshow in Kevin and Lament's memories other than just a cat and mouse chase and then a battle. I do have to admit though, that some of the dialogue matches with some of the actions that are taking place, but the fact that the memories just passed by somewhat disturbed me. Also, I think that you should have balanced the amount of the character development between Kai and Axl since they are a duo. Kai obviously gets much more attention than Axl does.
Mishka, I did not expect either of the contestants to use Hollow to get rid of Kevin and so I was quite impressed. I also enjoyed the scene in which Sideshow finally confronts the Ringmistress and then I liked the positivity to come forth afterwards. I have to agree that with Sideshow, Axl, Kai, and Rosu together, it really would make an interesting final battle. Also, you characterized Hollow correctly which added a huge comedic effect to your comic. ("OH FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, DO YOU EVER SHUT UP?!") Axl, Mire, Saikah, and Krea's characterization seemed to be right too.
If I could pick only one thing to pick on, then it would be the characterization of other characters. First off, I don't see Kevin as someone who would easily commit suicide. Secondly, Kai seemed unusually optimistic. If you recall, Kai was manipulated by Lament and then suffered huge guilt from killing Asari. I don't feel that it is believable that Kai would be able to move on so quickly. Also, even if Kai didn't kill Asari, I don't think he would act the way he did in your comic. Rosu seemed to be strangely forgiving too and I doubt she would have gotten over her best friend's death and forgiven her friend's killer so easily either.
Here's another point I would like to bring up about your entry since none of the judges have mentioned it (or at least not yet since we are still waiting on one more judge.) I would like for you to think about your opponents' main motivation. Axl is in the Hollows because he wants to help its civilians while Kai wants the wish. Then, in the last round, Axl stated that if they were to get the wish, then he would get it for Isla so that she could bring back her dad. After Kevin revealed that the wish was a lie, I was surprised that I didn't see any kind of strong reaction against that from Axl and Kai. There was no anger, confusion, anything. There was not much fighting either. I actually planned on going easy on judging on the Axl and Kai vs. Sideshow portion of both entries since the finalists' main goal was to finish off Kevin. Still, I felt that there should have been some sort of a conflict between Axl's party and Sideshow instead of only teaming up. Rosu also seemed to be there to be there. A minor thing that disturbed me while I read your entry was the handwriting. There were parts in the comic in which I had to stop just to read your handwriting.
~Crawlerkat
Organization: 4/5
It got better, Ill tell you that. The pacing didnt seem rigid, and the panels were working for me. Sometimes, though, I was confused about who was talking. I thought Kevin was talking when Axl was, and Axl when Sideshow was and I was just confused. And the speech bubbles would have been better if you made the little pointy thing in the direction of whos talking.
Effort: 4/5
The effort seems good to me.
Story: 18/20
Good story, I understood what was going on every second of the way. Sometimes I was sort of lead astray, but it didnt take long for me to figure it out. I was confused about the ending though
Characterization: 20/20
Everything seemed to be in order. Moods shifted appropriately and everything seems in order.
Plot: 18/20
Lotta plot right here, lotta plot. Kais backstory was great, and I throughly enjoyed it. One part that confused me though, and maybe this is because I forgot or something, but how does Henry fit into the picture again? I just got sorta confused. I did like the parts with the doors, but the text in the background sort of confused me, but it did keep me remembering whos memory it is, which is good.
Character Development: 15/20
Development from Kai is certainly blossoming, but Axl still sort of lingers behind. Sure, he was fighting, but I didnt really learn anything about him, and since theyre both in this thing, it sort of makes the whole thing lag a little. Axl tends to strike me more as a side character now, truth be told.
Hatter Situation: 3/5
I can see you. Youre going HUH WHAT. I know this wasnt included in my last judging, but seriously, this is what we asked of you. This the the whole shebang of the round. Personally I dont feel like either contestants delivered it well. CrawlerKat did have him in there doing things, and included the flashback with the children, but how exactly did he get heavily injured/die? I didnt really see him after the part with the door. I understand she planned more, but this is what Im judging on. Maybe CrawlerKat will do a SE after this, but we requested it in the entry.
~Mishka-chan
Organization: 2/5
I really wish I didn't have to give such a low score for something like this. I could kinda read Mishka's handwriting, and I'm not her English teacher, so I can't really say anything about that, but I would have liked it if she would have paid a little more attention to the speech bubbling. Sometimes she would just write text and leave it hanging, which sort of made it seem awkward. And then she would start sort of making bubbles attached to one another, which sort of makes it feel strange for me. One big bubble could easily replace some of these, and make the comic feel a lot better. The scripting seemed sort of jumbled up too, with the pacing going in all directions and leaving me behind. The actions were also really strange, and I don't know how Kevin ended up on the floor, or how the children appeared.
Effort: 4/5
I know Mishkas had some personal issues, but this left me a little disappointed for the finale. Ill cut you some slack though.
Story: 9/20
I'm just confused. I'm sorry, but I'm just really confused right here. What happened? The beginning was fine, it got off at a great start, but when the Ring Mistress appeared, it seemed to get really confusing down from there. There wasnt really any fighting, there wasnt really anything big. Kevins death also seemed sort of irrelevant, although thats what we asked for you in the whole round. I could tell it was supposed to be a moment where you sadden, but I really didnt feel anything. It sorta felt out of place, and rather suicidal. Im not even really sure how the door opened anyways, and even though a man just committed suicide right in front of Sideshow, Kai, Axl, and Rosus attitudes didnt change at all. The ending really left me miles away, for I have no clue what just happened. I can tell that there was times that things were supposed to change, and moods were supposed to swing, but it doesnt really speak to me.
Characterization: 10/20
I have to say that the Characterization left me utterly confused too. Kai seemed a lot more happy go lucky and the mood seemed a lot happier than the way they were depicted in CrawlerKat's comics. Rosu seemed a little cheery too, especially in the last panel, and I dont think shes forgiven Kai yet, has she? Kevin also seemed rather suicidal at the end, killing himself just because the twins and Isabella showed up, which is rather out of character.
Plot: 10/20
I felt like there was plot, trying to make an appearance, but I couldnt really see it. Its like its trying to tell me something through a wall. I could tell that the moments with the Ring Mistress and the children were supposed to be special, they were supposed to be touching, but like I said before, I was confused and it didnt speak to me.
Character Development: 12/20
Personally I don't think Sideshow's changed much. I don't really understand much about what happened and it seems like nothing was really revealed, or maybe too much was revealed in the beginning. This is the finale, the great ending, but I still feel a giant gap, and I feel like more could have been revealed, maybe, or more could have happened with him.
The Hatter situation: 1/5
Im sorry, Im rather disappointed. I could really tell that you were trying to make a moving moment, but I didnt feel it. And we asked you to include some memories from his past, but I got nothing other than the kids. The kids did show, Ill give you that, but they basically killed the man.
48/95 - 51%
82/95 - 86%
CrawlerKat is the winner for me.
Crawlerkat's entry was difficult to follow and rushed. It tried to follow too many characters at once and several important scenes happened off screen. Sorta like... "What? Kevin died? When did that happen?" I didn't even know when he died, much less who killed him until later. Maybe I'm just out of it. I do like how all that emotion was in there but it was just too confusing and I felt that it moved a little too fast.
As for Mishka, the entry was just about as short and a little bit confusing. I was disappointed that Sideshow didn't do the fighting himself really, but she had her reasons and he certainly had his. Some things were a bit confusing but not all that much. I really liked all the emotion and the plot was great. Asari's friend just seemed to be there to be there though.
My vote's in for ~CrawlerKat.
~CrawlerKat :
I just can't help but love your plot. It all fits together nicely.
You also seemed to portray your opponent character, Sideshow, well.
However, I had a bit of trouble understanding what was going on sometimes.
The fight scenes could have been more intense, and more creativity on the panel arrangement would have been great.
But overall, great entry; it really made me want to read more of it.
~Mishka-chan :
As always, great facial expressions.
I really like how the entry ends-all 4 of them decide to cooperate with each other.
I also really liked it when Sideshow said "I'm me"; I think it really shows how Sideshow has grown throughout this tournament.
But unfortunately, the handwriting was a bit difficult to read,
and the opponent character's (especially Kai's) personality seemed a bit awkward to me
(I thought he was a bit too cheerful for after all the things that happened in ~CrawlerKat's previous entry.)
But all in all, very nice entry.
Congratulations to the winner! I am very happy that I was able to be involved in this tournament.
I hope that this tournament was a lot of fun for the contestants, as well as spectators.
I'm really surprised it's already been 6 months since this tournament first started o_o
(I still remember, a year ago(?) Lalo was telling me about an OCT that she wanted to do...now, that OCT's about to come to an end...)
So the judges have one last boss comic to work on - please look forward to it!
And the winner of Nostalgia OCT is CrawlerKat! Congratulations!
I would like to take a moment to thank everyone who made this possible; The spectators, the contestants, the judges...you guys are all awesome.
Another thing I would like to say is that you all have no idea how happy I am that Nostalgia OCT made it through to the end with little to no drama. Drama is rampant in OCTs these days and they have shut down or completely ruined the proper OCT atmosphere for everyone but it didn't get close to happening with this OCT. I would like to thank everyone for good sportsmanship and support. ^^
Also, I would like to add that while I have participated in five OCTs and judged in two OCTs (including this one), I have never seen contestants work so hard to collaborate on a side story and continue to contribute to this OCT. It is an honor to have you all as participants of this tournament. You know who you are. ^^
It's not over yet though! There is still the final battle comic and the epilogue that will be brought to you by the judges. Though it will take a very long time, I hope you all look forward to it!
The prize distribution notes will be sent out to everyone who volunteered to donate a prize later this week, though you may go ahead and note your prize donors about what you would like as a prize. I will probably contact both of the finalists and possibly some of the active spectators concerning the final comic. When I do send out the note to the finalists, feel free to share any ideas you may have for the finale and we'll see if it is possible to incorporate that into the finale.
Again, thank you everyone for making this tournament possible.
